Full Semester Courses: The refund period for a full semester course runs from the first day of the sales for the current semester through the last day to request a pass/fail grade option.


Short Term use Titles and varying start date Classes: 10 Business days from the start of class for a full refund on all course materials. (i.e. Western Civilization, Theater dramas, English readers)


Exceptions/Items may be unable to be returned/refunded:

  • Damaged (e.g. Fluid torn/missing pages, etc.) or otherwise nonsalable/nonrentable books etc.
  • Textbook packages with multiple pieces must have all pieces returned.
  • Appeals process may be used for high priced items or special/extenuating circumstances.


  1. Rental Textbooks are due back to the JCCC Bookstore by the posted due date for the current term. For Summer 2022, the due date is July 29, 2022. If books are not returned by the deadline students will be charged for a replacement book. 

  2. It is your responsibility to use the book and return it to the JCCC Bookstore in acceptable rental condition.

  3. Identifying stickers/labels on the books must remain intact and must not be removed.

  4. At the end of the term, the book must be checked back into the JCCC Bookstore by the check-in date that appears on the front cover of the rental book.

General Merchandise Return Information

You have 30 days from the purchase date to receive a refund for Non-Text Merchandise.


Exceptions/items unable to be returned:

  • Items damaged by customer.
  • Apparel that is worn or stained.
  • Face Masks.
  • Other personal use/hygiene items.
  • As-is or clearance items.
  • Items otherwise not deemed complete, suitable for return, etc.


Healthcare Products

Healthcare products such as goggles and medical products must be unopened and in their original packaging. Clothing such as lab coats and t-shirts must not be worn or washed. Cosmetology, Esthetician and Dental Hygiene kits may not be returned. Resupplies for kits may be purchased at the Bookstore, please call (913) 469-8500 x3977 for more information.


Articles of clothing must not be worn, washed or stained in any way. The clothing must be in new condition and tags should not be removed.

Technology Accessories

Technology Accessory purchases have 30 days from the date of purchase for a full refund.  All purchases must be returned with all items present in the box purchased (e.g., cords, instructions etc.).
Exceptions/items unable to be returned:
  • Opened or used headphones.
  • Items damaged by customer or otherwise not deemed complete, suitable for return etc.


Laptop purchases have 30 days from the date of purchase for a full refund. All laptops returns must include accessories present at purchase, including box, cord and other items, if bundled.

Prior to requesting a return on a purchased product, please consult the technical support division of the product manufacturer. Support contact information will be included in the product's box and basic support is usually available at no or little cost.


Exceptions/items unable to be returned:

  • Laptops with programs loaded by student may not be returned.
  • Laptop damaged by customer.
  • Laptop returns missing boxes, cords, bundled accessories etc.
  • Items otherwise not deemed complete, suitable for return etc.
