As a faculty member you are vital to the work we do in the bookstore each semester in making sure JCCC students have the materials they need to be successful..

  • Go to Faculty Adoption page.

    • If you received an email with a password to adoptions enter your email address then password

    • If this is your first time using Faculty Adoptions choose "Register Here," "Create a profile for Adopting Books," then complete registration.

      • If you are responsible for more than one department, after registration is complete choose Faculty Adoptions, then under "Your Account" choose department information. Add departments here. (If you have questions on how to do this or you do not see all of the departments you need, contact your Bookstore Buyer.)

  • Go back to "Faculty Adoptions"

  • Select Guided Adoption (lower left corner)

  • Select the term that you are adopting for (Summer 2016 or Fall 2016 etc.) Department, Instructor, Course, Section.

  • If the class DOES NOT use any books, select the box "Check if Course does not require materials" in red. Then click on Continue and Submit your adoption.

  • If the class uses books, choose Continue. There are three ways to find a book:

    • History: If you are using the same book(s) as a prior term, choose History

    • Book Search: If you have a new, national ISBN, choose book search. This is a national database and should bring in your new book.

    • Add a Book: If you are changing to a "Custom" edition of any national book, call the Bookstore before you "Add a Book." We need to add it to our database first. Once we have completed this step you will be able to use the "Add a Book" option to adopt the new title.

    • When you find the book you require or you have successfully added your book, click on the Adopt button and the book is added to your adoptions cart on the right side of your screen, click on Continue.

    • Once you book is adopted, select Usage . This tells us whether the book is REQUIRED or OPTIONAL.

    • Review your options and make any changes.

    • Submit your Adoption. Once your adoption is submitted an email will be sent to you and your buyer.

  • Repeat this process for each class and/or section even if the book is not changing or no text is required.

If you have any questions, concerns or would like an adoption manual, please contact your buyer in the bookstore:
