Textbook Reservation FAQ’S

 

Q. When can I place my shipping/reservation order?

A.  Fall 2009 reservations began July 6th, 2009 and ended July 25, 2009 to receive the Early Bird specials. Please note that online orders placed after July 31, 2009, are not guaranteed in time for the start of classes.

 

Q. Where do I go to place my reservation/web orders?

A.  Orders can be placed online through the JCCC Bookstore web site http://bookstore.jccc.edu

 

Q.  Can students receiving Financial Aid also order textbooks through the JCCC Bookstore website?

A.  Financial Aid students can reserve books (during regular reservation periods) by selecting Financial Aid Hold as the Shipping Method and Financial Aid as the Payment Method.  Financial Aid students can take advantage of the Early Bird 5% discount (Fall and Spring only) and have access to used books if ordered during the promotional time frame.  The bookstore does not deduct the textbook total from your student account so a payment or Financial Aid Voucher will be needed at time of pickup.  If you are paying by Financial Aid, your order cannot be shipped.


Q.  What are my payment options?

A.  Shipping and Pick-Up at Store orders must be paid with a credit/debit card.  Upon order submittal, credit/debit card accounts will authorize for the full total, which may result in funds being held at your banking institution.  The credit/debit card account will be charged after all applicable discounts for promotions or Used books have been applied.   

 

Q.  When will my order be processed? 

A.  Orders will be processed in the order received, as books become available. Please note that online orders placed after July 31st, 2009, are not guaranteed to be available or arrive in time for the start of classes.

 
Q.  Will I get first preference for Used Books?

A.  Yes, Bookstore staff will pull used books for customers, depending on availability.

 

Q.  What are the dates and times for reservation pick up?

A.  Reservation In-Store Pick Up will be August 5th, 6th, & 7th, 2009, between the hours of 9AM-5PM.

 

Q.  Where will I pick up my reservation order?

A.  Orders are to be picked up at the Bookstore’s Express Windows located on the first floor of the Student Center, just past the C-Store. 

 

Q.  What is required for pick up?

A.  You are required to bring a photo ID-Student ID or a driver’s license and copy of order verification email (which has your 4 digit order number).

 

Q. What if someone else comes to pick up my order for me?

A.  You will need to notify the Bookstore in advance as to who will be picking up your order.  The person picking up the order must have a signed note from you authorizing this pick up and a photo ID.

 

Q.  What if my ordered books aren’t in yet by the reservation pick up dates? 

A.  Sales promotion will still be honored for those books ordered during promo period only - student will be notified when their book arrives. This does not apply to switched classes or those enrolled in after promo period ends. 

 

Q.  I’m trying to place a web order for my books, but I keep getting a message “The Password is Incorrect.” What do I do?

A.  This means the computer is not recognizing the password you are entering.  Click on the link “Lost Your Password?” and follow the directions.  If you have never placed a web order with the JCCC Bookstore, click on the “Register Here” link.  Next, click on the link that says “Students-Create Profile for Browsing and Shopping.”


Q. What happens to the books if I do not pick them up during reservation pick-up dates?

A.  Customers of pre-paid books will be called.  If order is cancelled, a 20% restocking fee may apply.   Financial Aid orders will be held until 1 week after classes start, then the books will be re-shelved.
